Lights Off In Bed?

One in four men switch off the lights before having sex. It's not because they prefer it, or because they get their jollies off in their dark. It's not because we ladies ask them to, either. Here are the top three reasons why men hit that light switch before getting their clothes off and sauntering back to bed for a saucy night of sex.

They're ashamed of their bodies
And we thought we were paranoid about our love handles. It's true: some men truly are ashamed of their bodies. They'd rather have a six pack, they'd rather not think about their 'curvy" stomachs (a keg, not a six pack), and they definitely don't want to think about body hair. All they want to do is get caught up in the act and enjoy themselves, making this excuse the most popular reason for switching off the lights. They'd rather feel confident in the dark then self-conscious in the light. Luckily, that confidence boost is just a light switch away!

They want to imagine someone else
Surprisingly, some men flick the light switch so they can magic themselves away to a remote island with their favourite actress or porn star. Sure, it's all in their heads, but there's not much a little imagination can't conjure up! Doing it in the dark is the preferred favourite for the tired businessman who just wants to be anywhere else other than in his everyday life with the same job, the same partner and the same routines.

It's what they always do
He's never stopped to think why he does it, he never questions it as he does it, and he's happy the way things have always been. This man continues to flip the light switch before sex because that's the way he's always done it, and that's just what he does. Men are creatures of habit and this excuse (the third most popular!) just goes to show that you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
